Specimen Handling | The blood is to be collected by venipuncture into a Vacutainer® blood collection tube andmix ed immediately by gentle inversion at least six times to ensure adequate mixing. Allow serum samples to clot for at least 10 minutes. Separate plasma/serum from red cells by centrifugation. PROTECT FROM LIGHT. Transfer plasma/serum specimen to labeled amber plastic transport tubewith a mber stopper and freeze. For amber plastic transport tube and amber stopper, order LabCorp Nº 23598. |
